FINANCIAL INCENTIVE TO INTER CASTE MARRIAGE

Applications are invited from eligible Inter-caste Marriage couples under the scheme “Financial Incentive for Inter-Caste marriages under PCR Act 1955 and SC/ST (PoA) Act 1989 in Assam “for the calendar year 2024 (Jan’24 to Dec’24). Eligible couples will be granted a one-time Financial Assistance of Rs 2.50 Lakhs, in the fixed deposit, jointly in the name of the couple (the first name being of the woman), in a Government /Nationalized bank, for a lock-in period of three years, without facility for its pre- mature encashment. The member of couples to be provided financial incentive is subjected to availability of Budget provision and sanction of funds from Government.

  • Eligibilty Criteria
    1. One of the Spouse of Inter-Caste marriage should belong to Scheduled Caste (SC) and the other should belong to General Caste Hindu.
    2. Marriage Certificate issued by the Sub-Register office.
    3. The marriage should be performed within 1" January’2024 to 31" December’2024.
    4. There will be no incentive on second or subsequent marriage. In this regard marriage certificate from a Gazetted Officer is necessary to confirm that it is the couple's first marriage.
    5. The combined annual income of the couple from all sources of income should be Rs 5 Lakh and below.

    The following self attested documents are needed to be enclosed along with the application and should reach the office of the undersigned on or before 30"Nov, 2024. Duly filled application after the last date will not be accepted and incomplete application will be rejected. Further the financial incentives will be subject to budget provision.
  • MANDATORY DOCUMENTS FOR RELEASE OF FINANCIAL INCENTIVE:-

    1. Digital Caste Certificate of Husband /wife issued by the Competent Authority.(Deputy Commissioner)
    2. Proof of General Caste of Husband/Wife in the form of affidavit from a Notary.(The same will be cross verified).
    3. Marriage Certificate issued by the office of Sub-Registrar.
    4. (i) Digital Income Certificate of the couple from concerned Circle-Officer (in case the person/persons are unemployed.)
    (ii) Salary statement signed by the Employer (in case of Private Sector)/ and
    (iii) In Case of Government Employees salary statement generated in FinAssam is to be enclosed.
    (iv) If wife is a homemaker without any income source, affidavit from the Notary stating the same should be submitted. Further, the same will be subject to cross- verification.
    5. ID proof-Aadhaar & Pan of the couple.
    6. Voter card /Driving licence /Ration Card as residence proof of the couple
    7. Joint photograph of the couple.
