Schemes implemented under Directorate of Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Assam- State Plan
The Pre-Matric Scholarship is paid to SC students from Class I to VIII as per norms fixed by the Govt.The parents/Guardians annual income does not exceed Rs.18,000/- and the students securing 40% marks or more in the last Annual examination are given priority for this Scholarship. The scholarship money is disbursed through the Sub-Divisional Welfare Officers
Rate of Scholarship
Govt. has moved for enhancement of the annual income ceiling upto Rs.1.00 lakh and the rate @ Rs.300/-and Rs. 480/- p.m.respectively It is expected to receive the approval within a short time.
This scheme aims to assist the educational institutions at the venture stage. The institutions situated in SC pre-dominant areas are selected for this grant. The schemes are implemented through the Sub-Divisional Welfare Offices. The grant under this scheme is provided for Construction/renovation/procurement of school furniture etc.Presently, this Directorate provide Rs.50,000/- for L.P and M.E. school and Rs.1.00 lakhs for High school and Colleges.
This is a State Plan scheme. The students undergoing training in various trades in different ITI's of Assam are provided stipend as per Govt. rules and procedures. Out of vacant seats in the Institutions 7% of Scheduled Castes trainees are accomodated for training in various trades. Trainees are provided stipends @ Rs.80.00 p.m for Pre-Matric trade and Rs.125.00 p.m. for Post-Matric trades.
The purpose of this scheme is to grow interest in culture and to provide opportunities to the SC students for acquiring knowledge by undertaking educational tours. The scheme is implemented through the Sub-Divisional Welfare Offices and the selection of the beneficiaries is done by the Sub-Divisional Development Boards
The purpose of this scheme is to achieve caste parity in the society. Cash award of Rs.10,000/- is given to each married couple and their parents when marriage takes place between general caste and the scheduled caste people
Under this scheme computer training is provided to the SC unemployed youths through registered reputed institutions in the State
The purpose of the scheme is to help non-official voluntary organisations performing humanitarian and social works with a view to improve the quality lives of the SC people
Under this scheme unemployed SC youths are provided with facilities of training in Computer / DMLT/Nursing/Motor Driving/Physiotherapy and etc.
This scheme aims to provide training to the unemployed SC women for their self employment through trianing in various trades like Cutting & Knitting, Beautician Course, Food Preservation, Front Office Management etc. through registered reputed institutions.
This is a State Plan scheme. Under this scheme, grants are provided for construction of SC Community Hall/School building for SC predominant areas of Assam. These schemes are being implemented w.e.f. 2009-10
This is a State Plan scheme. Grants are provided to the patients suffering from TB / Cancer and other malignant diseases @ Rs.10,000/-(cancer, heart disease, kidney ailment,etc)and Rs. 5,000/-(TB) respectively as per severity of the condition of the patients
This is a new scheme especially for meritorious SC Girls' students. Financial grants are to be provided to the meritorious Girls' students who have secured best results in the last HSLC & HS Examination. The incentive is given to Girls students securing 60% or above marks in last Board examination
Under these scheme, special development programme are implemented for self employment of SC unemployed youth and economical development in areas inhabited by the SC Community
This is a new scheme for construction of Dr.AmbedkarBhawan in all District/Sub-Divisional Head-Quarter of Assam with a facility of Conference Hall and Guest House for Scheduled Castes people.
26 nos. of Dr. B.R. AmbedkarBhawan are proposed for construction and 13 are completed, 9 are on the verge of completion and 4 are about to be constructed. Detailed list is as follows:
